DRAFT for the invited beta. It describes what the app does today; it still needs a legal review under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act before the beta opens.

What we collect

• An install id. A random number your browser makes the first time. No name, phone number or email.
• Your invite code, so we know which tester sent a scan or a comment.
• Photos of packs you take or upload, and the barcode.
• For each household member: an age band (for example "toddler") and their avoid list (for example milk). Nicknames you type stay on your phone and are never sent.
• Feedback and reports you choose to send. "Report a problem" also sends what the app did in the last few minutes (screens, requests, errors), and shows you exactly that before sending.

Who reads your photos

Google reads the label for us: Gemini reads the ingredient list, and Google Cloud Vision reads the text again as an independent check. Our reviewers look at photos of packs that aren't in our catalogue yet, or that you sent to us.

How long we keep it

• Your scan photos are deleted 30 days after the scan, unless you reported a problem with that scan, sent the pack to us, or the photo became the reviewed record of a pack in our catalogue.

Children

InsideLabel is for adults. When you add a child to your household, you are asked for consent as their parent or guardian; only their age band and avoid list leave the phone.
